Our Review/Thoughts

Nice looking, plenty of heft, lots of good features but no SSB

Just what I needed Very professional, sleek, precise looking radio

I sent an email to the company and will update this post with their answer

God Bless nice radio , we got for our cabin and comes in good there this radio is great for those who listen to Coast to Coast am, at midnight (or any talk radio on am), it doesn't fade in and out like a regular transistor radio, it is compact , and has a timer setting for 4 different times to save your battery from dying , so if you go to sleep listening to the radio it will go off so your batteries don't die as often as a regular old school radio, it has a head phone jack ,,, really worth every dime!! it was very very good Received as a Christmas gift from my wife that she purchased on Amazon + I am very impressed with the performance + the tuner that pulls in FM stations from long distances away that other am/fm radios could not, the center/inner vernier fine tuner knob let's you really fine select stations,I found the SW stations are hard to find depending on the time of day or night as they are continuously going on + off throughout the day, and you can easily miss them, but this is the Nature of The Beast in SW reception,The FM reception is outstanding and the signal meter in the display is nice to see the actual signal strength of the station you are tuning in, the display has 3 brightness levels + the display back light can be turned off + then it only actuates when you touch the tuner, which will save battery life,The AM stations are good and a little less statically then other radios I have, on SW bands it is important to note that the switch on the side has to be slid to internal antenna + not on external antenna to be able to pull in the SW bands, Mine was set to external from the factoryInitially I couldn't pull in any SW stations till I discovered the switch was set to external! The operators manual that comes with the radio is extremely poor + doesn't include much needed information which is a shame for such a complicated radio with so many controls + buttons + switches, Shame on Eton!It comes with an AC charger + uses (4) D batteries,One annoying characteristic feature is the preset switches of which is ONE Preset Button which includes (10) preset pushes for each band but once band presets are set you can only scroll up and you have to scroll thru all (10) preset stations to find the preset station that you want, kind of annoying + not efficient but it works OK,The Fidelity of the radio is very good + I am really delighted with it, despite some of the negative nuances that it has,The case is very professionally done with a 2 1/2 inch satin chrome band all the way around the perimeter of the radio which matches the knobs + gives a very nice high quality old world Halicrafter radio look, the quality of the black plastic looks + feels deluxe, so aesthetically I would give the radio an A+,The radio has a shoulder strap that is adjustable + includes a nice naugahide/vinyl velcro/snap cover that enables the long 1 1/4 inch wide nylon ballistic strap to fold up + make a short carry handle, it also has nice rubber gripper feet on the bottom which grip well,In summary the radio works so well, looks so nice, the sound is so clear + the tuner is truly a radio enthusiasts tuning dream that I rated it 5 stars despite a few negative quirks that I can live with, I am very satisfied with it, Big improvement in the tuner over the 350 although the sound slightly poorer

I would for sure recommend it to anyone wishing to tune in to several bands

I turn the radio on, but after 15 min, the radio turn off and then is not possible to turn on again (see video)I don't know if this is a bug or if other users have the same issue
