Our Review/Thoughts

” Solnit’s opening essay in this collection is the perfect example of this kind of thing that women experience frequently in their conversations with men

I hope that men who are guilty of living and speaking in this archipelago of arrogance will be able to see themselves in her writing, but a sincerely doubt

’ His point is that when the two seem incompatible we often hang onto the plan, ignore the warnings reality offers us, and so plunge into trouble

These essays are like hearing feminism argued by a well-read, news junkie friend

The essays, though, didn't quite hold together

I highly recommend this brilliant woman's cutting insights and ability to make those insights humorous and enjoyable to the women I think she is writing for and about
