Our Review/Thoughts

The novel reads like a page turner but I also learned a lot about health and medicine in this most worthwhile book! This first novel brings keen insight into the mind and life of a woman struggling with infertility, and the complex challenges she faces

I highly recommend this novel for all

It is filled with empathy and practical optimism

It sets us thinking: What do we do when our deepest emotional need remains unfulfilled? And again, what is the source of our resilience, our emotional strength to cope with serious disappointments? Why do some of us, when faced with life’s traumas, manage to ‘dust off’ and ‘keep going’ while others collapse into severe mental illness? This novel is a fascinating story of a woman on the brink of madness and the internal strengths and external help that lead her towards healing and self-forgiveness

Her expertise as a psychiatrist provides depth and reality to the story

This one will stay with me for a long time! I enjoyed reading this book very much
