I recommend The Turning Tide as a rewarding and engaging read and look forward to what Dr
The Turning Tide is great, because it's darkly funny and satirical
One thing I didn't quite follow; the apparent change from one person at the end of chapter 32 to two people at the start of chapter 33
The whole thing needs a couple of ruthless edits to pare it all back and decide what really needs to be here to tell the story
I hope there is a second book because I feel there are some hidden depths and strengths to be discovered in relation to this character
Combining that with a fictional debut set in Scotland with a political edge this should have worked but unfortunately for me it just fell a bit short
